How to Invite JPN Registrar to Your Wedding Venue in Malaysia
For many couples, saying “I Do” at their dream wedding venue is far more meaningful than at the JPN office. The good news? You can invite the JPN Registrar (Pegawai Pendaftar Perkahwinan) to officiate your solemnization at your chosen location—whether it’s a hotel ballroom, garden, or even a private villa. Here’s how to make it happen.
Steps to Have JPN Registrar at Your Venue
- Submit Marriage Application at JPN
- Both bride and groom must apply at JPN (Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara) branch where either one resides.
- Fill in the Kahwin Application Form
- Pay the processing fee
- Select “Outside Venue” Option
- When filling in your form, you can request for solemnization outside JPN office.
- Provide the full address of your desired venue and event date.
- Get Approval from JPN
- JPN will assign a Registrar Officer for your wedding day.
- Approval is subject to availability, so apply at least 21 days in advance (ideally 1–2 months before your date).
- Pay the Extra Fee
- Bringing the JPN officer outside incurs a special fee (usually RM500–RM700, depending on distance and state).
- This payment is separate from your marriage certificate fee.
- Prepare the Ceremony Space
- Ensure you have a table & chairs for signing the marriage certificate.
- Have proper lighting & sound so the registrar and witnesses can conduct the ceremony smoothly.
- Assign 2 witnesses (over 21 years old, with IC).
